This department established and was made functional along with CPEIC in August 2005. It is the first associated dental department with Cardiac Institute in Pakistan. Dental Section is modern and well equipped, located on the first floor, providing excellent dental facilities. It has contributed significantly to the field of cardiac surgery in very short period of time regarding dental clearance of the patient having rheumatic heart disease leading to Sub acute bacterial Endocarditis. The primary aim of this department is to provide Pre-operative dental clearance of the patient undergoing valvular heart surgery. This department is working under two consultant Dental Surgeons, one Dental Technician and two Dental Assistants and following procedures being performed routinely in this department:

Future Plan
In future it is been planned to provide the modern and advanced dental treatment i.e. Dental Implants to the required cardiac patients with the support of Orthopantomogram (OPG) which has already been installed and working in the Radiology Department for the last three years.
