Department of Academic Affairs established in 2012 under the Chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed Ex-Executive Director of CPE Institute of Cardiology Multan.

The foremost vision of the department is to augment the quality of medical education & research in the subject of cardiac specialty. The department also intends to produce well trained health professionals & researchers that can contribute significantly in the medical field of Pakistan.

The mission of the department is to develop health care wisdom, innovative thinking with the promotion of ethical values & attitudes for delivering highest standards of medical education in tertiary care health facilities. The mission is also to promote professional capacity building and the culture of research and consultancy.
Academic Goals
Keeping in view, the present day requirements of the subject, the Department of Academic Affairs has following goals:
- To endow with quality medical education in tertiary care health services based on strapping theoretical and practical knowledge
- To promote research work at various levels on local, national & international cardiac ailment issues
- To provide the essential and fundamental knowledge in the field of cardiology. Skill enhancement with proficient training of graduates
- To suggest appropriate health policies to address the cardiac ailment issues through academic and professional research
- To produce medical graduates specialized in cardiology and cardiac surgery through revised and updated curriculum
- To promote / extend the opportunities of research and consultancy for local, national and international issues
- To develop the strategic linkages with national & international institutes, providing heart care facilities
